A message from the Boys & Girls Club regarding COVID-19

UPDATE – March 13, 2020: All sites will be closed starting 3/18 until 4/6 or further notice.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County will close on the same schedule as our school districts. The safety and well-being of our youth, families, staff, volunteers and community is our top priority.

Following the direction of the state public health emergency and mandate from the Governor, the Clubs will close along with the Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls districts (no later than Wednesday March 18th) and anticipate reopening April 6th or when Sheboygan/Sheboygan Falls schools reopen.

Any families who made advance payment for service will be refunded for the time we are closed.

We will be working with the Sheboygan Area School District, the United Way and our local Food Pantry to help distribute meals for those in need. We will be sharing more information on these resources as soon as it becomes available.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County strives to do all we can to be a resource for families. The decision to close was made in an effort to best follow protocol meant to safeguard our community.

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County, the health and well-being of our members, staff and families is our top priority.

In the event of significantly increased illness, or if there were local cases of COVID-19, we will work closely with the Sheboygan County Health Department to follow and adhere to their directions.
We recommend everyday preventive measures to help decrease the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
  • Stay home when sick
  • Don’t touch your face
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve. Discard used tissues in a covered bin immediately, then wash your hands
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects
  • Create at least 3ft of distance from anyone coughing or sneezing

If your child is sick, please keep them home. If children present signs of illness at the Club, we’ll request early pickup

If you have travel plans, please stay up to date on any concerns by visiting the CDC’s Travel Advisory Page.

Please know that we are actively evaluating our plan responses, continuing prevention and cleaning strategies, and conducting symptom surveillance.

In the event of Boys & Girls Club closure, families will be notified via Remind and notices will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
