She was cheered for her accomplishments in both her role as Lakeland University’s Director of Student Equity & Belonging Initiatives/Asst. Dir., Ulrich Center and a Boys & Girls Clubs board member.
Athena Leadership Awards are presented annually by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. Nominees can be any person who demonstrates the qualities embodied in the Athena Leadership Model and who:

- Contributes time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community
- Actively assists others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential
Club CEO Christina Singh said Le’Shay’s excellence and effectiveness in her work and volunteering can be captured in many ways. But what stands out is her insistence on being well-connected to young people, not just a resource behind a door, “Le’Shay does whatever it takes to lift up young women, especially those experiencing disadvantages. It’s part of what makes her an excellent board member!”.
