Boys & Girls Club in the No Cavity Club with Support from Just Kids Dental
Doctors Andi Igowsky, Jaime Marchi and their team at Just Kids Dental recently added a new member to their list of “No Cavity Club” charity recipients: Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County!
In 2016, Just Kids Dental started the No Cavity Club, a program that rewards each child with a cavity-free checkup a dollar, and the opportunity to add it to the No Cavity Club Collection box. At the end of each year, the money gets donated to a local charity recommended by kids who are patients.
The program has grown over the years, and despite the challenges of 2020, it raised $10,000. “The office was closed for a time due to COVID-19, and we weren’t sure how big of an impact that would have on the No Cavity Club,” said Dr. Andi Igowsky, “But we came back strong! Our patients and staff are incredible.”
The donation came at a time that was especially meaningful for the Clubs, “We were wrapping up a tough year and providing new, responsive services,” said CEO Christina Singh, “So to receive a gift that is directed by kids and such a wonderful team – it really motivates you to keep pushing.”
The Boys & Girls Club is preparing for summer programming, services that span ten weeks for ten hours a day. Singh says this will be a crucial time for kids, “Learning loss, mental health and food insecurity are still huge problems for our community. We’re challenging ourselves to serve more kids and to do so safely.”
Support from Just Kids Dental No Cavity Club is helping fund Club programming that provides academic support, healthy meals and snacks and a trauma-informed approach to serving kids and teens.
