Boys & Girls Clubs Celebrate the Life of Ruth DeYoung Kohler
Six years ago, the Boys & Girls Club honored Ruth DeYoung Kohler with a Lifetime Leadership Award for her unparalleled impact on the experience and access local youth have to the arts. Every day since, and in the days ahead, Boys & Girls Clubs continue to celebrate Ruth and honor her legacy through the arts programming for kids. This video, played at the Leadership Award Banquet on June 11, 2014, is still a wonderful tribute.
CEO Christina Singh says Boys & Girls Club kids continue to be inspired by the magic of Ruth DeYoung Kohler and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center:
“The Club will always be a place where kids find equitable access to arts programming, and where Ruth’s legacy will live on.”
Ruth DeYoung Kohler II will be fondly admired as a tireless champion of under-recognized artists and art forms, and for most of her career, served as Director of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Ruth died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at her home in Kohler, Wisconsin, at the age of 79.
